On 21 to 22 October 2021, UNREC attended the World Girlsâ Summit organized by Plan International as part of the International Day of the Girl celebrated each 11 October and the global campaign âEquality for Girlsâ aimed at creating, catalysing and energizing a global movement for girlsâ rights through 3 main demands: Equal Power, Equal Freedom and Equal Representation for Girls. A video message of the High Representative was delivered to the plenary while UNREC Director participated in the panel entitled âEquality in Crises Situationâ.

On 7 and 22 October 2021, UNREC and UNODA Vienna Office met to discuss joint application for funding in the 2021 UNSCAR Call for Proposals. A draft proposal and a draft partnership agreement between the two UNODA offices were finalized. Related communications to beneficiary Member States have been sent. Finally, the Vienna Office finally decided to submit the proposal alone.
