participated in High Representativeâs working visit to the African Union where she met AU CommissionâsÂ
Chair Moussa Faki Mahamat and AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and SecurityÂ
(PAPS), on 16 and 17 May 2023. ODA and the AU reviewed existing collaboration and agreedÂ
to expand it to further advance peace, arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament inÂ
Africa, in support to the AUâs initiative to âSilencing the Gunsâ. The High Rep also met with
the leadership of the UN presence and diplomats and heads of internationals organizationsÂ
working with the AU on how best to advance the partnership with the AU on disarmament.
