UNREC assisted BWC/ISU in the planning and organization of a hybrid virtual and in person Workshop on national capacity building on the Biological Weapons Convention on 10 March 2022 in Lomé, including logistics and IT arrangements. UNREC took part in the workshop delivering opening remarks and in person moderating.

On 30 March 2022, UNREC held a Teams’ meeting with CAB and RDIOB to discuss a draft concept note to be proposed to the Government of Germany as an alternative possibility to replace the Africa Amnesty Month project from 2023.

On 26 March 2022, UNREC attended a conference-debate entitled “the Vectors of radicalism and violent extremism in Africa” in Lomé, an initiative of an association of academics for peace and security linked to the University of Lomé.

On 24 March 2022, UNREC attended the monthly meeting of the Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) organised by the YPS Secretariat at UNFPA / PBSO (Department of Political and Peace building Affairs).

On 22 March 2022, UNREC participated in the UNCT meeting with a WHO mission on avenues to strengthen resilience of African Member States against pandemics and other natural or human-engineered contagious biological hazards.

On 17 March 2022, UNREC participated in the UNCT meeting at the Presidency on to follow up on the request for assistance for the government’s emergency plan for resilience in violent extremism affected region bordering Burkina Faso.
