On 21 April 2022, the African Union Commission held the 3rd AU Regions Standing Committee Meeting on SALW and DDR with representatives of participating Member States, RECs, Regional Mechanisms and Regional Bodies handling SALW and DDR issues as well as partners. Participants updated on the control of illicit SALW and efforts with respect to DDR, at the continental, regional and national levels. UNREC presented its latest efforts in this regard and submitted a written report as follow-up.
