Mr. Anselme Nahmtante Yabouri has assumed the position of the Director of the United Nations Regional Center for Peace and Disarmament, covering all of Africa from Lomé (Togo), as of 2018.
He has extensive experience of conflict, peace and security, including with the UN. He has worked for the Special Representatives of the Secretary-General for Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS) and for DR Congo (MONUSCO). He has also worked for the Deputy Special Representative-Political for the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) and for the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General-Humanitarian Coordinator in DR Congo (MONUSCO).
He has professional experience with other UN and international bodies such as UNDP, UNICEF and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He is a specialist in arms control, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, as well as in security sector reform, peace, security and stabilization issues.
